Hi Kim, We are sorry that you didnt have a 5-star stay with us. This is the first time we have ever received a 2-star review. We pride ourselves in giving our guests the best experience and cleanest cabins possible. We understand and are sorry about the WIFI being down during your stay and what an inconvenience that was. We do need to correct you on one itemwe DO NOT have a cockroach problem. Our cleaning girls thoroughly clean before and after each guest stay and we have a pest control company in place that regularly comes out and sprays our cabins. However, given your claim upon departure that morning, our cleaning girls tore apart your cabin an hour after your departure pulling out everything including our appliances and looking in and under everything and found nothing. We also had our pest control company come out the next day and they sprayed the entire cabin as well just to be on the safe side. What you saw was probably a wood roach and they are very common in our area, especially around this time now that the weather is changing and theyre becoming more active. Wood roaches are not a home-invading species like the other well-known German cockroach and American cockroach. Wood roaches mostly stay outside, but on occasion can come inside from an open door or window, being carried in on firewood or even on a shoe or pant leg if youve been hiking in the woods. When they do get inside a cabin, they do not reproduce. On your 4 day and 3-night stay with us, if we did have a problem, you most likely would have noticed them on your first night or even second night staying with us and not necessarily your last night. We ourselves, our families, friends and guests stay at any one of these cabins throughout the year and would never tolerate any such issue. Again, we are sorry we missed the mark on your stay and that you didnt have an exceptional stay with us.

Stayed 3 nights never did get wifi, and on the last night had a bad experience with a live roach! Then as I'm cleaning up to leave discovered a dead one under the front of the refridge, I swept it out. If that would have been the first night I would have been gone asap. Needless to say unpacking was a job making sure I brought nothing home. I contacted the owner she said the cleaner didn't see any Thursday when she was there and they have a company that sprays. Well I'm telling you! YOU HAVE COCKROACHES best of luck. I have stayed in many cabins and NEVER seen a roach and all were in the woods . Yes she said they were also in the woods and try to keep them out. Smh.

Thank you for your kind words and recommendations on area activities! We are so glad you and Craig had a great Honeymoon with us last year and returned to celebrate your 1 year wedding Anniversary. Hearing stories and reviews like yours that our Treehouse is your "Happy Place" makes owning these cabins extra special and meaningful to us. It was a pleasure speaking with you on the phone throughout your stay. On a cool side note, the guests who checked in three days after your stay wrote us a note and said they loved having the hummingbird feeder and made some of their own nectar for the feeder during their stay =) We hope you return for your second wedding Anniversary and it's just as wonderful as your previous stays!

This is my happy place. My husband and I stayed here in May 2018 after we got married, and we just returned from our #1 anniversary trip a week ago. One of our favorite activities is sitting in the hot tub and listening to all of the wildlife. This year my husband saw a bobcat tracking a deer. I love hummingbirds, I brought my own hummingbird feeder. I could not believe how much activity we had with those tiny little birds. There were at least five that we could distinguish, 2 females, 2 males, and one we weren't quite sure if it was male or female. It was never more than 30 seconds between visits. We also had a baby squirrel nest in the tree right next to the hot tub, so in the evening we could see the three little squirrels playing running up and down the tree. We believe they were about 5 to 6 weeks old. We love Hocking Hills because there are always a lot of things to do. Since I have nerve damage from a stroke, I can't always be outside - this year we did the Jack Pine Studios, some exploratory drives, and tried several different new restaurants. It was very fun to explore the area. On the days that I could be outside for small amounts of time, we went on a short horseback ride, a couple of hikes, a petting zoo, and Butterfly Ridge. (BTW- I recommend Muddy Boots Petting Zoo, Blue Moon Acres, and Butterfly Ridge) Anyway, back to the cabin. We stay in the treehouse, which is ungodly expensive. We save up all year so we can have a week of pure enjoyment. The cabin is always spotless, beautiful, full of clean towels, and be the essential kitchen items. The owners always call to make sure that everything is going well and ask if there is anything they could do to make our stay even better. Whenever I have tests like MRIs, radiation, or other procedures, these weeks are what I think about to get me through. These trips with my husband are nothing short of perfect.
